Disability Confident: Supporting People with Autism and Neuro-Diverse Conditions
As the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, I would like to welcome you to the Hidden Impairment National Group (HING) website.
The HING comprises: disabled people, medical professionals/academics and disability specific organisations that offer employment support to people with Autism and associated Neuro-Diverse conditions. By working together the HING has achieved considerable success in promoting the skills, talents and abilities of people from these groups, but we recognise that more can be done to improve employment opportunities for these people.
The HING website offers an opportunity for employers to learn more about they can recruit and retain people with Autism and associated Neuro-Diverse conditions. This information will help employers identify what reasonable work-place adjustments may be required to help individuals achieve their full potential in work.
I see this new website as an important means to share good practice, information and guidance as widely as possible with employers. This is an important step to towards supporting all employers to become Disability Confident and I am delighted to be supporting this website.
Rt. Hon Penny Mordaunt MP
